In
order to properly assess the condition of sewer/drain lines, it is
frequently necessary to clean the lines in question before a CCTV
inspection is possible. BSIE uses a sewer jetting system to ensure
proper cleaning before any visual inspection is conducted. BSIE’s
sewer jetting system is a self contained unit with a 300 gallon
capacity water tank and multiple jet nozzle heads for various
cleaning conditions.
Nozzles are affixed to the end of a ½” diameter high pressure hose
which is then snaked through sewer and drain lines to loosen debris
and sediment within the pipe. Debris is then pulled downstream by
retracting the pressure hose. If so desired, debris can be removed
from the system at the manhole point of entry by vacuum extraction
or allowed to flow downstream provided there is enough volume. BSIE
has the capacity to clean pipes from 4” to 36” at a maximum length
of 1500’.
In order to clean building laterals, the jetter is equipped with an
attachable reel of hose ¼” in diameter and 200’ long, capable of
operation up to 1500’ away from the system to infiltrate hard to
reach accesses. There are a number of specialized nozzle heads for
this reel designed to optimize the cleaning and removal of debris
and sediment in small pipes.
BSIE’s jetting system is also equipped with a high pressure
water-gun, much like those found in car washes. This, too, has
optional nozzle attachments for adaptability to any situation. The
most commonly used nozzle creates a horizontal spray of water,
directed by the operator and with variable pressure control. This is
used primarily to clean manhole structures, but can pressure wash
many hard surfaces.
Cleaning and inspection provides BSIE’s clients with a concise and
complete understanding about the existing conditions of their
pipelines. The services provided by BSIE can identify and isolate
many negative conditions that may affect the integrity of a sewer or
drain system. These may include but are not limited to, ponding,
ovaling, slipped or damaged joints, blockage, cracking and
structural issues, breaking, caving, pest infestation, and root
infiltration. Having this information is paramount in making
informed decisions on how to rectify adverse conditions. Contact
